Fees (monthly)

Our fees are paid monthly in advance and must be received by the first day of each month . Often a child starts on a date other than the first of the month. In this situation the first payment will be on a pro rata basis , using the daily rate , to the end of the month and thereafter full months will be due on the first of the month. Our fees include : breakfast, lunch, supper, snacks, cow’s milk, nappies, baby wipes, nappy cream and sun cream.


We are registered with the Local Authority and are able to offer the universal free place of up to 15 hours (per eligible child) per week. Full fees are charged until a child

b ecomes eligible to claim the universal free place (as laid down by government criteria) . To access the universal free place at Seahorse Nursery you must agree to our ‘Agreed additional services p ackage’ as listed below. Your universal free place is for a minimum of two full days and based on what you choose for your child and nu rsery availability.

ADDITIONAL 15 HOURS (commonly referred to as 30 hour offer)

P arents need to apply through the official website – www.childcarechoices.gov.uk or call the hotline on 03001 234097 . If you are successful you will be given an 11 digit eligibility code (beginning 5000). You will need to reapply for the additional 15 hours every 3 months. For us to administer the 30 hour offer we require the fo llowing information :

  • 30 hour eligibility code (known as DERN)
  • Parent/s name
  • Address and postcode
  • Parent’s national insurance number
  • Name of child and DOB of child
  • Parents written consent for the Nursery to contact the Local Authority to check eligibility.

To access the additional 15 hours at Seahorse Nursery you must agree to our ‘Agreed additional services package’ as listed below. Your additional 15 hour nursery place is for a minimum of two full days and based on what you choose for your child and nursery availability.

Additional services fees

Agreed Additional services package: Includes our carefully resourced Nursery environment, high staff:child ratios, highly qualified and experienced pedagogues, 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, an enriched curriculum including our bespoke Inky Swot curriculum (maths and literacy programme), partnership with the Seahorse family and extended opening hours.

Please note that it may be possible to access a completely free offer at another provider and you should contact your Local Authority for further details.

The additional service fees are approximate due to the Nursery offering government funded hours , i.e. “ free ” to parents, across 51 weeks of the year rather than i n a term ly format and because the Council pays the Nursery in instalments of differing periods of time. This means the Nursery has to adjust the additional service fees.


Seahorse Nursery accepts payment, via the Childcare Voucher system, in regard to Fees only. Under Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations we are not allowed to accept vouchers for the Registration Deposit, Waiting List or outings etc.


We require a deposit one month ’ s full fee s . The deposit is refundable once your child has left the nursery and the final fees due have been paid. The deposit is not refundable if you do not take up your child’s place.


Seahorse Nursery gives priority to siblings of children attending the day or school nursery and then by order of those registering their interest. Those registering their interest are offered a place at the Nursery subject to availability.

Once a place is offered it is available for acceptance within 5 working days from the date of our offer letter. The nursery plac e is guaranteed if the terms and conditions are signed and returned and the requisite deposit is received within this time.


In the event that you would like to serve notice for your child to leave the nursery or reduce the number of days your child comes to the nursery we require 2 months notice in writing, or the payment of 2 months fees in lieu of notice.

CANCELLING or DEFERRING a child’s place prior to a child’s start date

A child’s place is deemed to have been accepted once the Seahorse Nursery agreement form, signed by the parent/guardian, has been received by the nursery. The deposit is non – refundable if a child’s place is cancelled. The deposit of one month’s fees for a Nursery place is refundable, provided 2 months notice is given. If a parent/guardian decided to defer their child’s start date they will need to re – join the Waiting list.

NURSERY CLOSURE and BANK HOLIDAYS Our Nursery is open 51 weeks a year. We are closed for five working days over the Christmas period and for all bank holidays. The monthly fees remain the same every month regardless of these holidays which have been built into the daily fees. We also close for two inset days per year to enable whole staff training – these dates will be given in advance.
