Please email for a copy of our current fees.
Our fees are paid termly in advance and must be received by the first day of each term.
Seahorse Nursery offers places out up to 24 months in advance or when they become available. We offer nursery places based on:
– Where a sibling attends the nursery
– Where you have requested a transfer for your child from another Seahorse Nursery
– Date of registration (form and receipt of payment)
– Required start date
When a place becomes available you will be contacted and given 48 hours to accept. Once you have accepted a place we send a formal offer letter and you have 5 days to pay the deposit and sign the terms and conditions which secures the Nursery place. The nursery place is only guaranteed if the terms and conditions are signed and returned and the requisite deposit is received within this time.
We require a deposit of £600. The deposit is refundable once your child has left the nursery and the final fees due have been paid; our bursar reconciliates your child’s account before the deposit is returned. The deposit is not refundable if you do not take up your child’s place.
METHOD OF PAYMENT
Payment is made by manual bank transfer. You can also pay using childcare vouchers or the government Tax Free Childcare system.
Seahorse Nursery accepts payment, via the Childcare Voucher system, in respect of Fees only. Under the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations we are not allowed to accept vouchers for the Registration fee, deposit or outings etc.
In the event that you would like to serve notice for your child to leave the nursery or reduce the number of days your child comes to the nursery we require 1 terms notice in writing or the payment of 1 terms fees in lieu of notice. If notice is received after the first day of term fees will be due for the following term – there will be no exceptions. The deposit of £600 for a Nursery place is refundable, provided 1 terms notice is given.
CANCELLING or DEFERRING a child’s place prior to a child’s start date
A child’s place is deemed to have been accepted once the Seahorse Nursery terms and conditions have been signed by the parent/guardian and received by the nursery. The deposit is non-refundable if a child’s place is cancelled. If your child has started at the nursery and you wish to serve notice, then the deposit of £600 for a Nursery place is refundable (provided one terms’ notice has been given and there are no outstanding payments due to the Nursery). If a parent/guardian would like to defer their child’s start date (having accepted a place and paid the deposit) the following options are available:
a) Continue to pay the fees due for the nursery place to retain it.
b) Cancel the place (your deposit will be retained) and re-join the registration list and wait for a further place to become available. A further place will be offered based on the admission criteria.
NURSERY CLOSURE and BANK HOLIDAYS
Our Nursery is open 33 weeks a year. We are closed for school holidays, all bank holidays and up to two inset days per year – these dates will be given in advance.
15 HOUR GOVERNMENT FUNDED EARLY EDUCATION (15 universal hours)
Seahorse Nursery administers the Government offer of funded (free) early education hours. This totals 495 hours per year for all 3 and 4-year-olds and some 2-year-old children. The free hours are incorporated into the childcare fees. Children who are eligible can take up a place after their second or third birthday on the relevant date shown below.
|Child born between||Will be eligible from|
|1 January and 31 March||1 April|
|1 April and 31 August||1 September|
|1 September and 31 December||1 Janaury|
To access the universal free place at Seahorse Nursery you must agree to our ‘Agreed additional services package’ as listed below. Your universal free place is for a minimum of two full days and based on what you choose for your child and nursery availability. The current government grant varies by local authority; funding is for 15 hours per week and for 33 weeks a year. Seahorse Nursery claims and administers this on your behalf.
